You decided to work with e-Captain as member management system for you association. How does it work? Where to start? This page is created to help you find your way and arrange e-Captain so you will be able to perform you tasks as fast and easy as possible, and have more time for the more fun things of your choice.
The base of e-Captain consists of your members, your relations. To be able to enter or import these into e-Captain, you need a few settings. You will have to think of how you'ld like to arrange things in e-Captain, e.g. contributions.
We start off with making settings in the Management Centre.
You can set contributions in e-Captain in different ways. You can choose to work with contribution rules, groups, or individual products. The easiest way is to work with contribution rules. You set them in the Management Centre. The following pages can help you:
To be able to invoice, you also have to make a few settings. You can find these in the Management Centre at Billing, with the option: Billing settings.
You can also select your logo or writing paper for the bills in the Management Centre.

For accountancy within e-Captain, you have to make settings as well. You find these at Accountancy in the Management Centre, especially master data. (dagboeken, grootboekschema).

We start entering relations. You can enter relations manually, one by one, in the Member Management. How to do this, is explained in Adding New Member. Nieuw lid toevoegen.

There are many different things you can import in e-Captain:
Within e-Captain, you can add a lot of information about your members. The base is personal data and contact details. You can also add extra information by using extra fields and groups. ( extra vrije velden groepen) . To classify members into groups easily you can use Change Collectively in Member Management.
In e-Captain, our e-mailtemplates are frequently used e.g. for payment reminders, member applications, activity applications etc. You can adjust these templates the way you like and fits your organization and add your own text. It's also possible to create your own e-mailtemplates. Read the page: Mail templates aanmaken for instructions. You can use variables to add e-Captain information to your e-mails.
You can work with multiple users in e-Captain. This makes it easy to divide the different tasks within your organization. The secretary focuses on member management while the treasurer focuses on accountancy.

If you did all the above, there's a nice fundation for you to arrange e-Captain for your organization. You can for example continue with the Activity Module of relation-and renting objects. (Activiteiten module of relatie- en verhuurobjecten ) bijvoorbeeld. It's also possible to create your website in e-Xaptain or to make a newslettertemplate ( Websitebeheer or nieuwsbrieftemplate ).
