Introduction rental objects

Defining rental objects is actually very simple, but  you have to know what an object is and how that works. Let us therefore first explain what it means to plan objects. An object is a rental item that the association has in his or her possession.

Examples include:
• berths for boats,
•parking lots,
• lockers for storing materials,
• riding stables with horses,
• a parking space for a trailer and the like.

Everything the association owns and can rent to members, are objects. Perhaps a better word is rent administration.

What about an association? The association is actually the intermediair between the tenant (the member of the association) and the product that's rented out. So we have tenants (members), the association and the rental items.

Members are in the membership file. We also use this to invoice. The association is also known, otherwise you can not work in e-Captain. Now we have to create the rental items (objects).

Create objects
In short, it comes down to the following:

• Create a group (define categories) where the articles will be placed.
• Create the rental items (planning management), this could be for example 100 berths.
• If this has happened, you have actually entered all rental items in e-Captain.
• You have already done the members, so you can now link a member to an object / article. Here you indicate which period it is and what the financial consequences are. On this basis, a financial rule is created and linked to the member. This can be invoiced by normal means.

In fact, this is what you always do. Suppose a member comes to an association and asks about the possibility for a private parking space. You know that it is a member. You can check this via your e-Captain membership administration.

So you watch  e-Captain whether there is a free parking space. If it is available and approved by the member, you link the member to that parking space. The finances are created. You invoice and in the planning you see that the free parking space has been issued to the member you linked to that location.
