Creating mailing templates

e-Captain uses styling to create the layout for documents. Using templates you can create the layout for your organisation to be used for invites, on the website and in emails.

To create templates in the mailing module:

  • In the main menu click on Mailing
  • Select the folder Templates.

  • In the Templates folder you will see the standard e-Captain templates as well as the designs which you’ve created.
  • If this is the first time you’ve opened templates you will only see the standard e-Captain templates.

Template creation

  • Click on the New Template button IconS_Plusje and the following screen will open.
  • Enter a name for the new template and create the layout using e-Captain’s text editor. More information about the functions of the text editor can be found in this document.

  • In the text editor you can also use preset stylesheets. Click on the drop-down menu for the stylesheets.

Below is an example of a template with images and variables in the message. Variables are found in the right drop-down menu. Here you’ll find the most common fields from the members cards.

  • Once your template is ready click on Save.
  • You’ll see the following message:

  • Click on Back to return to the maling messages screen.
